HBSCNY Awards $40,000 to NYC Nonprofits

The Harvard Business School Club of New York (HBSCNY)’s Community Partners program awarded $40K to four NYC nonprofits at its bi-annual Leadership Awards presentation Thursday, April 27 at the UJA Federation of New York. Girls Write Now, LaGuardia Community College, MESA Charter High School and New York Sun Works were all honored. Additionally, Harvard Business School Professor Kash Rangan conducted a case study focusing on KaBOOM! and this national nonprofit’s efforts to scale operations to fulfill its mission to have a play area within walking distance of every child in America.
Medical Billing Program Attracts Health Systems

LaGuardia Community College on Wednesday graduated 22 students in the second cohort of its medical billing certificate program, created in partnership with Weill Cornell Medicine. For the second class, which began in May, additional employer partners expressed interest in preparing students, including NYU Langone, Mount Sinai, Northwell Health and Columbia University Medical Center.
