Scholarship Eligibility and Applications

To apply for any of our scholarships, all application materials must be submitted to Community Partners directly (communitypartners@hbscny.org) and not Harvard Business School.

Performance Measurement for Effective Management of Non-profit Organizations (PMNO)

Eligibility
  1. You must hold a senior leadership position at the non-profit you are applying to represent — preferably an Executive Director position or equivalent — and be committed to implementing effective performance measurement and management.
  2. You should have at least one year of experience in your current role at the non-profit.
  3. The non-profit should be located in and focus its activities around the Greater New York Metropolitan area. National or international non-profits will be considered if they are headquartered in the Greater New York Metropolitan area.
  4. The non-profit budget should be at least $500,000 (preferably over $1 million).
  5. The non-profit should have three or more full-time employees, and have been fully operational with full-time staff for at least one year.

Strategic Perspectives in Non-profit Management (SPNM)

Eligibility
  1. You must be the leader of your organization, i.e. CEO, President or Executive Director, and you must be directly responsible for setting its direction, mission, policies and major programs.
  2. You should have at least one year of experience in your current role at the non-profit.
  3. The non-profit should be located in and focus its activities around the Greater New York Metropolitan area. National or international non-profits will be considered if they are headquartered in the Greater New York Metropolitan area.
  4. The non-profit budget should be at least $500,000 (preferably over $1 million).
  5. The non-profit should have three or more full-time employees, and have been fully operational with full-time staff for at least one year.

Governing for Non-profit Excellence (GNE)

Eligibility
  1. You should have at least one year of experience as a board member at the non-profit you are applying to represent.
  2. The non-profit should be located in and focus its activities around the Greater New York Metropolitan area. National or international non-profits will be considered if they are headquartered in the Greater New York Metropolitan area.
  3. The non-profit budget should be at least $1 million and have been fully operational with full-time staff for at least three years.
Application Instructions
  1. Complete our application and email it to communitypartners@hbscny.org with “GNE” in the email subject line.
  2. Please inform your organization’s CEO or Executive Director of your application and have them email a brief recommendation supporting your candidacy to communitypartners@hbscny.org.
  3. We encourage candidates to supplement their applications with a nomination from an HBS alum, which can be submitted via our online nomination form. Only one nomination will be accepted (additional nominations will not be reviewed).
